Part time position 

JOB SUMMARY:

This position involves assisting individuals experiencing developmental disabilities in the acquisition of work maturity skills necessary to obtain employment and independently maintain employment in the community. Job Coaches provide ongoing support to consumers working at various employment sites within the community as well as serves as an advocate for persons living with disabilities. This support is individual-based and centered around work-related goals that focus on helping the consumer obtain the maximum level of independence within their job. Job Coaches provide the supports necessary to ensure success at future employment opportunities. Service will be provided at the consumer’s place of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently model appropriate work maturity skills and hold consumers to the same expectations;
  • Provide services to consumers without discrimination as to race, religion, sex, age, or disabling condition;
  • Ability to assist the jobseeker in identifying personal interests, which lead to a job of choice in the community;
  • Monitor consumer’s work performance and provide feedback and prompts when needed;
  • Provide proper documentation on all consumers’ work performance in a timely manner;
  • Ensure safety is being maintained in the work environment at all times;
  • Know and adhere to established agency policies, procedures, and regulations. This includes but is not limited to:
    1. Attending orientation session with Supervisor or their designee.
    2. Completing one observation session while service is being given at the consumer’s place of employment.
    3. Able and willing to obtain a minimum of 15 hours of field related training each year.
    4. Demonstrating competency in completing all required forms, time cards, and reports.
    5. Consistently receive satisfactory performance evaluations.
  • Maintain and model positive, professional working relationships with consumers and staff;
  • Accept and integrate supervision;
  • Provide service for consumers regardless of location by creating and maintaining an atmosphere that is welcoming, understanding, communicative and supportive of consumers.
  • Willing and able to substitute for other Job Coaches, when needed.
  • Through work performance evaluations, demonstrate a solid working knowledge of most frequently encountered disabilities of consumers and the ability to provide specific, quality service for them.
  • Attend required meetings and in-service training sessions.
  • Update and upgrade skill levels by attending EAG provided in-service training or other authorized training for a minimum of 15 hours of mandatory annual training
  • Other duties as necessary.

Part Time Position

Under supervision from the Director, Training and Programming, the Trainer assumes responsibility of the facilitation of trainings, commonly offered in, but not limited to Schools, employer offices, and Rehabilitation Offices. The versatility of this role is paramount. The Trainer must be able to train all age groups with enthusiasm and high levels of engagement. He/she will follow the prescribed curriculum/calendar of activities that are designed to develop the skills of clients. This is done to increase their skill level in order to secure and maintain employment. This is inclusive of mock job interviews, job counseling to clients, work site tours, one on one trainings and sensitivity awareness and training for existing and potential employers of hard to place clients. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates day-to-day classes to assist clients in gaining knowledge and soft-skills needed to secure employment.
  • Conducts classes in an atmosphere that promotes caring and respect in accordance with the Mission and Vision of Empowerment Advocacy Group.
  • Prepares written weekly reports to Program Director.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Employability skills, teaching materials, and procedures with understanding of various teaching methods. 
  • Understands the need of and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations. 
  • Maintains close communication with Director of Training and Programming.
  • Instructs clients in job seeking, application procedures; resume writing, interview preparation and job retention skills and attitudes.
  • Provides job search/career information workshops and presentations as needed.
  • Facilitates career counseling, evaluation, skills training, job readiness training and other activities related to employment transition.
  • Ensures the delivery of services which are reflective of
    1. an Independent Living Philosophy/Self Sufficiency and;
    2. Consumer empowerment and self-advocacy.
  • Maintain necessary documentation for client records and billing
  • Create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment
  • Must be a trainer that sets the standard and expectations through example in his/her conduct, work ethic, integrity and character
  • Able to deliver, project and motivate trainees through effective training methodologies both in group and individual classroom dynamics
  • Manage the design, delivery and continuous improvement of training programs in support of the organization’s needs.
  • Utilize a variety of the training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs
  • Conduct specific training needs assessments to support the design, development and delivery of corporate training programs and strategies.

Plans, organizes, and administers the prescribed curriculum to clients with the support of the Director of Training and Programming.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Handle administrative requests and queries from senior managers
  • Organizing and scheduling appointments with admin software
  • Planning meetings and taking detailed minutes

We are looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities.
